Katherine Lizarraga Mazaba

Community Outreach & Communications Intern

Katherine Lizárraga Mazaba is a Caroline Scholar at Mount Mary University studying
Psychological Science and Health Communications with minors in both Health Sciences and
Social Sciences. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue a Master of
Public Health, with interests in epidemiology and public health research. Her academic
experiences have sparked an interest in understanding how research and data can help identify
health disparities and improve health outcomes in communities.

Katherine has gained experience in research and community engagement through opportunities
with the Medical College of Wisconsin and organizations throughout Milwaukee. Through her
research experiences, she has explored injury patterns and healthcare utilization while
developing a deeper understanding of the factors that influence health outcomes. Her
community-based experiences have also strengthened her interest in working with diverse
communities and addressing local health and social challenges. At Data You Can Use, she is
excited to continue developing her communication and outreach skills while learning more about
how local data can help communities better understand and respond to their needs.

In her free time, Katherine enjoys watching movies, sewing, exploring Milwaukee, and spending
time with her dog.
